Emil Billbäck appointed new Chair of the Board of Intervacc

Intervacc AB (publ), a growth company within veterinary medicine with its vaccine Strangvac® registered in 16 European countries, today announces that Chairman of the Board Håkan Björklund has handed over to Emil Billbäck, previously a Board member, who was elected as the new Chair at the Annual General Meeting held on Wednesday. Continuity is ensured as Håkan Björklund remains on the Board as a non-executive Director.
The appointment represents a natural step in the Company’s development, with a primary focus on growth and scaling. Intervacc’s new Chair, Emil Billbäck, brings extensive experience in market entry for smaller biotech companies at the early stages of their growth journey, which is highly relevant to Intervacc’s current phase of development.
“It is an honour to lead the Board of Intervacc. We are entering an exciting phase where the equine vaccine Strangvac® is to be approved and launched in the United States, followed by advancing the porcine vaccine Piggivac™ towards market authorization. My focus will be, together with the Board and management, to realize the full potential of our technology portfolio,” says Emil Billbäck.
The right time for a transition
Håkan Björklund, who has served as Chair of Intervacc until now, believes the timing is right to pass the gavel to Emil Billbäck.
“Intervacc is now accelerating, and Emil’s expertise in sales and marketing complements the CEO, Carl-Johan Dalsgaard’s, strong background in science and pharmaceutical development. A further significant advantage is that they have previously successfully navigated companies through critical commercial and financial transitions,” says Håkan Björklund, who will continue to serve on the Board.
